I believe the Koa was to be harder than oak - not so. do NOT drop anything on the floor as it dents. The worst part was the amount of waste due to cracked pieces and the varying widths which leads to irregular spaces.Based on other reviews I have to agree, If you are going to have a dog, get standard red oak as the Bellawood shows every scratch. The floor looked beautiful when first installed, but that didn't last long.The flooring came in random lengths, with far too many short pieces. unfortunately its my upper level completely.
I Have had these floors for a few years now, we are two adults living hereI have had to purchase area rugs, this floor dents with any tiny object that falls on it! I was told it was so strong, but it is not so. The underlayment and adhesives must be conditioned at 70 degrees Fahrenheit with the relative humidity between 25% and 65% for at least 24 hrs before and 72 hrs after installation. Bellawood Platinum Underlayment is designed to be installed in enclosed areas where temperatures will not fall below 55☏ or go above 100☏.

The wood is 1/2' thick and I'm not sure it will be heavy enough to push down the waves in the underlayment. We have it all rolled out and the seams are taped but it refuses to lay flat.
