If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or 7, you want to use this release: PeerBlock r162 Interim Release. We do now have a signed-driver however! We don't consider the release quite stable enough yet to be considered a Public Release, but it's very close now. (If you're running Vista, you have a third option - use a tool called "Ready Driver Plus" which will automate the F8-at-bootup process.) See the Driver Signing Workarounds page for instructions on applying these workarounds. You have two options in this case: either hit F8 every time you boot up and manually disable Driver Signing Enforcement for that boot, or disable UAC and use a tool called "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider" to "test-sign" the pbfilter.sys driver. Microsoft has implemented "Driver Signing Verification" in these OS releases, which means that any driver must be digitally authenticated ("signed") before it will be allowed to run. Unfortunately, if you're running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista (SP1+) or Win7, it's going to be a bit more annoying with our Public Release (0.9.2, r86). If you have PeerGuardian2 installed on your machine already (and installed in the default directory under "Program Files"), it will even import the PG2 settings for you so that your configuration should be the same as what you're used to using in the past. Installing PeerBlock is actually pretty simple! The Installer should take care of just about everything for you, and get you up-and-running, ready to rock. If you're looking for more information about what PeerBlock is and how it operates, check out our About page. This page is a quick guide to getting PeerBlock to work on your machine.
